LifeHouse is very excited to partner with the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office and the Topeka Police Department to present the new program, Protecting Your Children: Advice From Child Molesters in the Topeka and Shawnee County communities.

We will be educating parent/caregivers, professionals and other members of the community in new ways to identify and prevent child abuse. We hope to be able to present this to all schools in the county, so keep an eye out for notices coming home from school!

Pizza, drinks and child care will be provided in order to make attending super easy for parents and caregivers.

Presentations listed below are open to all members of the community.  The workshop incorporates interviews with convicted sex offenders and graphic discussions about sex crimes and child abuse.  Children and teens should not attend the presentation but child care will be available. Attendees with a personal history of abuse are encouraged to have support people available following the presentation.

Scheduled Presentations:
  • Thursday, October 23rd, 6:00-8:00pm at Seaman High School in the Commons Area
  • Wednesday, November 12th, 6:00-8:00pm at Wanamaker Elementary
  • Thursday, December 4th, 6:00-8:00pm at Randolph Elementary
  • Tuesday, February 24th, 6:00-8:00pm at Lowman Hill Elementary

*At no time will sex offenders be present
